For weeks, maybe even months, Lily has been quacking like Donald Duck when she sees a duck. You’d never know how many ducks populate a child’s world until she starts pointing all of them out —- even if you restrict your search to just the yellow ones.
Then she broadened the category to include Tweety Bird, and everything has gone downhill. Then there was a new twist: she was quacking whenever she saw something yellow, particularly some yellow books on the bookshelves. Now it seems she’s quacking at nearly every animal she encounters.
It’s very confusing.
